Trolls
As we all know, I like to read. Not long ago I realized I also like to write. It amuses me. Ultimately I would up putting my stuff up, either here or on the pit of voles, as ff.net seems to be called. The difference to me is mostly the submission mechanic, as dfp requires ftp while ff.net does not. Meh. Either way, it occupies my time.
Now someone read the first chapter of something I put up and noticed it was in 1st person POV. (This is on ff.net) They then went on to write a short review of what crap it is, how the POV prevented them from enjoying, etc. After that they wrote another one for the second chapter.
Is it just me, or is that awesome? They wrote how badly they disliked it, and then read _another_ chapter. The second one was even longer than the first. With the swell of joy in my heart like a new father I realized, ‘Awww. I’m being trolled!’
Yes, kiddies, I’ve got my very first troll. It’s a rite of passage on teh intertubes. You do something; you get a troll. It means I’ve graduated from cackling to myself. Now someone out there went to the effort to read several chapters of something just so they could tell me how much it sucks. It’s so cute.
So I would like to say, ‘Go you, troll.’ I can’t wait to watch you, and see if you continue on, reading dozen-plus-page chapters of a story you so clearly do not like. At this point either you will continue to self inflict the unpleasantness of reading my dreck upon yourself, which seemingly has an effect like exposure of bare skin to nitric acid, or you will stop. Win, win for me. Thank you, and this is all.

Note: The troll also made it all the way through the rest of the story, whining the whole time. Wow.

I will echo with a “You go, troll.”
In all seriousness congrats Mia.
